Police in Chico, California, launched a murder investigation after a man’s body was found in a shopping cart outside a grocery store this week.
Police said someone reported a body and a shopping cart near the entrance of Food Max at 4.15 pm on Sunday.
The body was wrapped in a white plastic sheet and had visible injury marks, the police department said in a statement.
Police said they are probing the death as a homicide. He did not reveal the identity of the person in the statement.
The Food Maxx is in a shopping center in Chico, about 80 miles north of Sacramento.
