Anderson pleaded guilty Wednesday to three counts of murder in the first degree, one count of assault and battery with a deadly weapon and one count of maiming, which reduced his sentence from death to five counts of life in prison, three without parole.
Anderson’s attorney did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
The Oklahoman reported that Anderson was sentenced to 20 years in prison in 2017 for a probation violation in a drug case. Republican Gov. Kevin Stitt last year commuted the sentence to nine years in prison, and Anderson was released after serving a little more than three years.
Grady County District Attorney Jason Hicks criticized criminal justice reform that led to the execution of hundreds of Oklahoma inmates.
